Well, Mr. BooksandTea and I are finally settled in our hotel room in Glasgow. Because of our flight path, stopover, and time zone changes, we didn’t check in until around 2 pm local time.
We went out and walked around a bit after checking in, mostly to find food, but after eating, we went straight back to the hotel to crash – the loud music and the crowds after all that travel put me into sensory overload and I was just exhausted. I needed QUIET.
That eventually turned, predictably, into a nap. A very necessary one, at that.
By the time I woke back up and de-groggified myself, we decided to have dinner at a nearby restaurant, and stuck to appetizers, because we had already eaten. It turned out to be a very wise call; the food was excellent, and the portion sizes were just right. I ordered a bowl of cullen skink, he ordered some chicken strips, and we shared a haggis fritter.

Glasgow is much further north than my hometown of Toronto, so the sun doesn’t here well after 9 pm. This allows for some really love golden hour photos late in the day.

We still haven’t decided what we’re going to do over the next few days, but I’m hoping we can spend some time on the riverfront. Right now, it’s time for bed
